The Hanover Township Fire District # 2 is pleased to announce the successful passage of its 2025 budget and the results of the recent Board of Commissioners election.
On Saturday, February 16th, residents of the Whippany section of Hanover Township voted to approve the Fire District # 2’s $2.4 million budget by a margin of 166 to 115.
In addition to the budget approval, the district held elections for the Board of Commissioners. We are pleased to welcome Joseph Cortright and Joseph Cozzarelli, who were elected to serve three-year terms. Cortright received 213 votes, and Cozzarelli received 173 votes. The election results also included 85 votes for Richard Quinn, 58 votes for Robert A. Erich, and 20 votes for Frank Tursi, with six write-in votes.

The reorganization meeting for the Board of Commissioners is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, in the meeting room at 10 Troy Hills Road in Whippany. The public is invited to attend.
