Kick off Fire Prevention Month with the Whippany Fire Department! We are thrilled to invite our neighbors to our 2026 Annual Open House on Sunday, October 4th, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. This is the perfect opportunity for the whole family to get a behind-the-scenes look at the local firehouse, learn life-saving safety tips, and connect with the volunteers who serve the community.
“There’s nothing quite like opening our doors to the neighbors we protect,” said Firefighter Henry Hansch. “This event is all about building community connections. Whether you’re here to learn everyday fire safety, let your kids climb up into a rig, or find out how you can join our ranks, we can’t wait to welcome you to the firehouse.”
This year’s free community event will feature a lineup of hands-on activities, including:

Station & Apparatus Tours: Climb inside the fire trucks and explore the station where our crew trains and operates.

Live Demonstrations: Watch our firefighters in action as we showcase the equipment and techniques used to respond to local emergencies.

Meet the Crew: Shake hands and chat with the dedicated men and women who protect Whippany 24/7.

Kids’ Activities: Fun, interactive learning stations designed to teach the younger generation about fire safety.

Refreshments: Enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages on us while you hang out with the team.

Volunteer Information: Curious about giving back? Our membership committee will be ready to answer your questions and explain what it takes to join our firefighting family.
The event is completely free, open to the public, and will be held at our headquarters at 10 Troy Hills Road. Bring the family, tell your neighbors, and come spend the afternoon with us!
