We want to thank everyone who came out this evening to our “Question and Answer” meeting at the Hanover Township Recreation Center to discuss our upcoming special election to help us secure the funds required to complete our firehouse for the approximate per-family cost of a pizza ($14 per year for the average household).

Attached is the financial handout we provided to everyone in attendance that offers a breakdown of the proposed finances. We look forward to everyone’s support this Saturday (August 10th) during the special election which is at our Commissioners House located at 434 Route 10 in Whippany from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 PM.

These bonds will be used first to repay the existing Fire Company construction loan used to get the new firehouse to its current “as is” state and most importantly complete the remaining construction needed in order to move into the new building.

The Whippany Fire Company is currently in the process of transferring ownership of the new firehouse and property to the Board of Fire Commissioners making the building an asset of the district, the transfer of which will be completed prior to the August 10th vote. Secondly, the Hanover Township Town Council is fully aware, onboard and supportive of the property transfer, securing of the bonds, and most importantly, completion of the project.
