The Whippany Fire Department is excited to announce our annual Open House, scheduled for Sunday, October 5th, from noon to 4 pm. This year, we’re kicking off Fire Prevention Month with a fantastic opportunity for the community to get an inside look at their local firehouse, learn vital safety tips, and meet the dedicated volunteers who serve you.

“Our annual Open House is a highlight of the year for us,” said Firefighter Henry Hansch. “It’s a great chance for residents to see firsthand what we do and to ask questions in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. We especially love seeing the kids get excited about fire safety and seeing the equipment up close.”

This year’s event is packed with activities for the whole family:

  • Apparatus and Station Tours: Explore our fire trucks and tour the station to see where we train and operate.
  • Live Demonstrations: Witness a few of our techniques and see how we use our equipment to respond to emergencies.
  • Meet & Greet: Chat with our firefighters and get to know the men and women who protect our community.
  • Kids’ Activities: We’ll have fun, interactive activities to help the younger generation learn about fire safety.
  • Refreshments: Enjoy some light snacks and beverages on us.
  • Volunteer Information: Ever wondered what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter? Our membership committee will be on hand to answer all your questions and show you how to join our team.

This free event is open to everyone and will be held at our station at 10 Troy Hills Road. We can’t wait to see you there!
