The Board of Fire Commissioners of Hanover Fire District No. 2 (Whippany Fire Department) will hold a special election on Saturday, August 10th seeking approval of a referendum question to permit the District to spend up to $6.1 million dollars for the completion of the new Whippany Fire House on Troy Hills Road. The District would seek a loan through the Morris County Improvement Authority in order to raise the funds.

Registered voters in Whippany only are eligible to vote on August 10th between the hours of 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 PM at the current Fire Commissioners House located at 434 Route 10 West.

In order to provide more detail about the referendum question, the Fire Commissioners are hosting an information session at the Township’s Multi-Purpose Community Center on Wednesday evening August 7th starting at 7 p.m. The Community Center is located at 15 North Jefferson Road adjacent to the Municipal Building. All are invited to attend.
