The countdown is on! The Whippany Fire Department is excited to remind all our neighbors that our Annual Open House is happening tomorrow, Sunday, October 5th, from Noon to 4:00 PM at the firehouse at 10 Troy Hills Road.
Our dedicated volunteer members are down at the station right now making final preparations, polishing the trucks, and setting up the activity stations to ensure a fun and informative day for the entire community.
A Picture-Perfect Day for Fire Safety
The forecast for tomorrow is absolutely beautiful—sunny and in the 80’s—making it the perfect fall afternoon to spend outside with the family. This annual event marks the official kickoff of Fire Prevention Month and offers a fantastic opportunity to see firsthand what your local firefighters do.
“Our annual Open House is a highlight of the year for us,” said Firefighter Henry Hansch, “It’s a great chance for residents to see firsthand what we do and to ask questions in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. We especially love seeing the kids get excited about fire safety and seeing the equipment up close.”
What to Expect at the Station
This free, family-friendly event is packed with activities for everyone:
- Apparatus and Station Tours: Explore our fire trucks and tour the station to see where we train and operate.
- Live Demonstrations: Witness some of our techniques and see how we use our equipment to respond to emergencies.
- Meet & Greet: Chat with our firefighters and get to know the men and women who protect our community.
- Kids’ Activities: We’ll have fun, interactive activities to help the younger generation learn about fire safety.
- Refreshments: Enjoy some light snacks and beverages on us.
This is also a great chance to learn more about becoming a member of the Whippany Fire Company. Our membership committee will be on hand to answer all your questions and show you how to join our team.
We can’t wait to see you tomorrow!
