Inspection Information
Inspection requirements:
All hardwired and battery-operated smoke and carbon monoxide detectors must be 10-year sealed units.
Must have a CO detector within 10 feet of the sleeping areas, if any gas appliances are in the residence.
Any fire detection system being monitored by a private company, current test report must be present.
As per NFPA 75 all hard wired detectors must be inspected by a licensed electrician and have a report.
Inspection Fees
$75 – Request received more than 10 business days prior to change of occupant
$125 – Request received 4 to 10 business days prior to change of occupant
$175 – Request received fewer than 4 business days
$50 – Reinspection
$500 – Failure to obtain inspection
