The Township of Hanover Fire District 2 will hold its Annual District Election on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Whippany Fire House located on 10 Troy Hills Road in Whippany, NJ. This election is a vital opportunity for residents to have a direct say in the leadership and financial planning of their local fire protection services.
Candidates for Fire Commissioner
Voters will be asked to select representatives for the Board of Fire Commissioners. The following candidates are listed on the ballot:
Membership to the Board (Three-Year Term): Robert COBANE, JR. is running for the full three-year term. Voters may choose one candidate for this position.
Membership to the Board (Two-Year Unexpired Term): Christopher MILLER is running for the unexpired two-year term.
Public Question: 2026 Fire District Budget
In addition to selecting commissioners, residents will vote on the proposed budget for the 2026 fiscal year.
Public Question No. 1 asks: “Shall the Commissioners operate for the fiscal year 2026 with a budget of $2,453,306.00 and with an amount to be raised by taxation of $2,224,710.00“
Approval of this budget ensures the department has the necessary funding for equipment, maintenance, and operations to continue providing emergency services to the Whippany community.
