The Hanover Township Fire District #2 held its annual election on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the Whippany Fire House. Residents voted for two candidates to serve three-year terms on the Board of Fire Commissioners and for the 2024 proposed budget.

The unofficial results of the election are as follows:

  • Fred Brunner: 363 votes
  • John Gethins: 294 votes
  • Anthony Facchino: 184 votes
  • Frank Tursi: 117 votes
  • Bob Johnston: 75 votes
  • Ian Bell: 1 vote
  • Dale Cowley: 1 vote

John Gethins was re-elected to another three-year term, and Fred Brunner was elected to his first three-year term on the Board of Fire Commissioners. They will begin their three-year terms in March 2024.

The 2024 Hanover Township Fire District #2 proposed budget was voted down and now the Board of Commissioners will work with the Township of Hanover to review and refine the 2024 proposed budget.

  • Budget No: 360 votes
